MIAMI, FL – A new opportunity to support women is being launched this March, during Women’s History Month.   WIFF-TV, the new, online, streaming network featuring live seminars, films, podcasts, and television programming created by women, will launch on International Women’s Day, March 8, 2022.

WIFF-TV will not only include on-demand content, but will also incorporate live events featuring panel discussions, workshops, and interviews with women from all walks of life.

“We surveyed our audience and more than 99 percent told us they’d like WIFF-TV to present online webinars about a multitude of topics ranging from domestic violence, human trafficking, diversity, breast cancer to equity in the workplace,” said the Women’s International Film & Arts Festival (WIFF) & WIFF-TV Founder Yvonne McCormack-Lyons.  More than 160 topics were requested.

“The results of the survey fall in line with what the mission of WIFF has been since its inception, which is to address issues that impact women worldwide,” McCormack Lyons explained.  “We’re excited that this platform will allow panelists and filmmakers to interact and engage directly with our audience to answer their questions immediately.”

The online service will launch with more than 50 titles, including many audience favorites from the Women’s International Film & Arts Festival (WIFF) held in Miami, Florida; Liverpool, England; Medellin, Colombia; and New York City over the past 14 years.

Women directed only 16 percent of the top-grossing films in 2020.  “There is still a lot of work to do in terms of parity in the entertainment industry.  WIFF-TV expands our ability to increase the visibility of women directors,” added McCormack-Lyons.

With the pandemic still looming, the in-person Women’s International Film & Arts Festival was postponed.  When it’s safe to do so, the annual, five-day, film festival will resume. “Now that we’re adding WIFF-TV, we are delighted that we can screen films and  empower women’s visions and voices all year long,”  said McCormack-Lyons.

Monthly subscriptions to WIFF-TV are $9.99 monthly or $95.89 annually (a 20 percent discount).  All subscriptions include a free, one-week trial period. In celebration of Women’s History Month, subscribers who register during March 2022 will receive a three-month 20 percent discount to $7.99 per month.
