​​We believe that the way women are depicted in the media directly impact the way they are treated in society. With women representing less than 20 percent of filmmakers, the number of stories created thru a women's lens and perspective is very low and seldomly reflective of our ideas, goals, desires. There is still a lot of work to do in terms of parity in the film and entertainment industry. WIFF-TV expands our ability to increase the visibility of women directors in an environment that supports their work and understands their struggles.
